The journey has begun …

The Bedford road trip began with their compelling debut single,
I Am Alive.

“Ask no questions,” David Trimboli sings, “I will make you see.”

I Am Alive is a song about our journey,” David explains. “It’s about staying alive and surviving in this industry.”

Adds guitarist Matt Miao: “It’s about all the sharks, all the people out there who try to take away what is ours.”

David: “So many people have their own agenda, but they don’t always have the best interests of the band at heart. So we wrote a song about that.”

I’m not blinded by your lies

Produced by Lindsay Gravina (The Living End, Thirsty Merc, Magic Dirt), the album "Right Now" is a powerful collection of songs that showcase the Bedford brand of rock – classic but contemporary, inspired by a range of influences, from Zeppelin to Powderfinger, as well as U2 and the TV series Monkey Magic.

“Our sound is based on big riffs and melodies,” Matt says, “For us, it’s all about combining catchy tunes with rock energy. And we really value the lyrics.”

The Bedford journey started when David and Matt met through a mutual friend in Melbourne in 2002. “I used to own a Bedford van,” David explains, “but the name is also a reference to the fact that we love everything vintage, from our instruments to our amps.”

The Bedford lineup was completed by drummer Karl Lewis (who points out he has no athletic ability whatsoever) and bass player Jonathan Zion.

Highlights along the way have included a trip to NSW’s Central Coast. “We played a pub where we were told every original band had been booed off and had stuff thrown at them,” Matt recalls. “The only bands who survived were cover bands and tribute acts. So we were a bit nervous.”

“But it ended up being one of the best gigs we’ve ever done,” David says. “The whole place got into it. "

With the album completed, Bedford are hitting the road.  The band’s motto is: Coming To Find You.   “We’re coming to find everyone who hasn’t heard of us yet,” David says.

I Am Alive is a great introduction.

Yep, Bedford are alive on arrival.
