INFO

Bedford are a new and exciting hard hitting rock band reigning from Melbourne, Australia. Blowing away audiences the world over with their melodic radio friendly rock tunes, they blaze a live show with reckless abandon and tunes so catchy they'll hit you in the not so funny bone days later.

Bedford deliver a comlplete rock n roll package back to a stage where rockstars once tread. With songs like "Reflection" in their pockets, it is no wonder they are so quietly confident. Reminiscent of bands like Matchbox 20, The Goo Goo Dolls, and The Tea Party, Bedford have an easily recognisable sound that is pop enough for radio and heavy enough to appeal to a younger audience with a taste for grit and grime without the contrivity.

Frontman David Trimboli is thought of by many as the love child of Lenny Kravitz and Chris Cornell, although he is Egyptian. With a voice that glides between velvety melodies and raspy rock accompanied by crunching guitar sounds, it isn't any wonder that fans can't get enough of Bedford's music.

With ten killer tracks that range from solid hard rock to melodic power pop ballads such as "Pray", Bedford revisits the old school of rock where they revel in a time before clinical production, digital enhancements and electric keyboards.

Bedford ARE the real deal and have the awards to prove it. 2006 Winners of the LA Music Awards for 'I Am Alive' single. They are in this game for the right reasons and it shows. Real songs, that are sung with a voice that is exemplary of past hurts and real life experiences, all of which have been brought to the table and laid out for everyone to see.

The journey has begun …

The Bedford road trip began with their compelling debut single,
I Am Alive.

“Ask no questions,” David Trimboli sings, “I will make you see.”

I Am Alive is a song about our journey,” David explains. “It’s about staying alive and surviving in this industry.”

Adds guitarist Matt Miao: “It’s about all the sharks, all the people out there who try to take away what is ours.”

You jeopardise and you criticise, you never thought I would survive

David: “So many people have their own agenda, but they don’t always have the best interests of the band at heart. So we wrote a song about that.”

I’m not blinded by your lies

Produced by Lindsay Gravina (The Living End, Thirsty Merc, Magic Dirt), the album "Right Now" is a powerful collection of songs that showcase the Bedford brand of rock – classic but contemporary, inspired by a range of influences, from Zeppelin to Powderfinger, as well as U2 and the TV series Monkey Magic.

“Our sound is based on big riffs and melodies,” Matt says, “For us, it’s all about combining catchy tunes with rock energy. And we really value the lyrics.”

The Bedford journey started when David and Matt met through a mutual friend in Melbourne in 2002. “I used to own a Bedford van,” David explains, “but the name is also a reference to the fact that we love everything vintage, from our instruments to our amps.”

The Bedford lineup was completed by drummer Karl Lewis (who points out he has no athletic ability whatsoever) and bass player Jonathan Zion.

Highlights along the way have included a trip to NSW’s Central Coast. “We played a pub where we were told every original band had been booed off and had stuff thrown at them,” Matt recalls. “The only bands who survived were cover bands and tribute acts. So we were a bit nervous.”

“But it ended up being one of the best gigs we’ve ever done,” David says. “The whole place got into it. "

With the album completed, Bedford are hitting the road.  The band’s motto is: Coming To Find You.   “We’re coming to find everyone who hasn’t heard of us yet,” David says.

I Am Alive is a great introduction.
